Leipzig

Porsche Leipzig GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG.  Founded in 2000, the plant has developed into a centre of excellence for electromobility. Since 2024, the second fully electric generation of the Macan has been manufactured here. The Porsche plant in Leipzig produces models with three different powertrains – combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and fully electric – on a single line. This flexibility enables the plant to efficiently combine different drive concepts and respond to varying demand. Alongside the Macan, the Panamera sports saloon is also built in Leipzig. In the past, the plant produced the limited-edition Carrera GT (1,270 units, 2003–2006) as well as the Cayenne (2002–2017). Today, more than 4,600 employees work at the site.
