Green light for the 36th season of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland

Thirty-two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racing cars tackle the first two races of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland season on Autodromo Imola in northern Italy.

The season opens with a full house: With the maximum number of 32 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland kicks off the new season in Imola with a capacity grid. Two races will be contested on the Formula 1 circuit in Emilia-Romagna as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) support programme. This year’s calendar includes 16 races contested over eight weekends in five countries.

Four guest entries will join the 28 registered drivers at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Twelve nations are represented, including Australia, Brazil, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates. In Imola, seven newcomers will battle for points in the Cup’s inhouse Rookies’ classification. The ProAm lineup includes six gentleman drivers.

Thanks to the arrival of Emely de Heus from the ID Racing team, a female driver will once again compete in a 375 kW (510 PS) Porsche 911 GT3 Cup during the 36th season of the German one-make cup. The Dutchwoman most recently contested the F1 Academy single-seater racing series. “This is obviously a big change for me, but I’m looking forward to my debut,” declared the 22-year-old.

Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti tackles the one-make cup determined to take home the title. The Frenchman competes for the Schumacher CLRT squad, which is now venturing into the German Carrera Cup as the reigning team champions of the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. The second Porsche Junior is Germany’s Theo Oeverhaus, who will represent Bonk Motorsport as another hot favourite at the season opener. “I’m looking forward to the doubleheader event at one of my favourite racetracks,” says Oeverhaus, who clinched a pole position in Imola exactly one year ago.

Synthetic fuel for the first time

Committed to reducing CO₂ emissions in motorsport, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will use the synthetic fuel “DTM Pro Climate” for all eight race weekends in the 2025 season. The Carrera Cup’s partner ADAC is also adopting this fuel for the first time for its DTM, ADAC GT Masters, and GT4 Germany series.

“We’re finally revving up again. The Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland again features an impressive grid lineup with a great mix of experienced drivers and rookies. The choice of racetracks is also guaranteed to offer some action-packed racing. I’m particularly proud that our Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will now run on synthetic fuel,” commented Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.

The track: Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola (Italy)

Opened in 1953, the racetrack in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region is one of the most iconic circuits on the Formula 1 calendar. It was named after the Ferrari founder and his son. The 4.909-kilometre course on the outskirts of Imola follows the natural rolling contours of the hilly region. Last year, Harry King won both Carrera Cup races at the Autodromo for his Allied-Racing team. Like reigning champion Larry ten Voorde from the Netherlands, the Englishman is not competing this year.
