Video games have become a global cultural force, and few series illustrate this better than Resident Evil™. For nearly thirty years, the franchise has helped define and continually reshape its genre, building a dedicated worldwide fanbase and growing into one of the most influential video game series of all time.
In Resident Evil Requiem, players accompany Leon S. Kennedy on a dangerous investigation in a mysterious setting. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is his vehicle of choice, because its performance, design, and presence mirror the protagonist’s determination and distinctive style.
“An iconic character like Leon and a vehicle as powerful as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT make for a perfect match,” says Deniz Keskin, Director of Brand Management & Partnerships at Porsche AG. “Partnering with a beloved gaming franchise like Resident Evil allows us to connect Porsche with global pop culture in a fresh and memorable way.”
The partnership extends beyond the digital world. Porsche has developed a one-of-a-kind Cayenne Turbo GT show car featuring specially designed add-on parts created together with Capcom. The vehicle made its public debut on February 19 in Los Angeles.
“Seeing this collaboration come to life not only on screen, but also in the form of an actual show car is something we’re genuinely excited about,” Keskin adds. “Applying game design ideas to a real-world vehicle was a challenging effort which required close alignment between teams on both sides.”
The show car also features in a short film that was produced by Capcom and Porsche. It stars Nick Apostolides, the voice and motion capture artist playing Leon in Resident Evil Requiem. It premiered on the Resident Evil YouTube channel on February 20.
