After winning the Manufacturers’ World Championship at the Tokyo E-Prix at the end of July, Porsche is still in contention for two further titles. Pascal Wehrlein sits third in the drivers’ standings, just five points off the lead. Championship leader Jake Dennis, from England, also drives a 99X Electric for Porsche customer team Andretti Formula E. The Porsche factory team heads into the finale second in the teams’ standings, 14 points behind. The points scored by Wehrlein’s Swiss teammate Nico Müller also count towards this classification. Müller remains mathematically in title contention, 44 points behind the leader. Given the deficits, Porsche can only secure either title in the second London race on Sunday afternoon.
Historic look recalls the successes of the 1980s
In 2026, Porsche celebrates 75 years of motorsport, a history that began in 1951 when the Porsche 356 SL took a class victory at Le Mans. As the 99X Electric contests its final races this weekend, the brand will mark its motorsport anniversary with a historic livery. The design draws on the colour scheme and styling of various successful Porsche race cars from the 1980s. These include the Porsche 959, which won the 1986 Paris–Dakar Rally. For track racing, the Porsche 956 and Porsche 962 C achieved the greatest successes. The two white-and-blue Group C sports prototypes each claimed two overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 1982 and 1983, and in 1986 and 1987 respectively.
Indoor-outdoor circuit holds special significance
Porsche Motorsport has also celebrated major success at the ExCel Circuit. Porsche factory driver Wehrlein claimed the brand’s only London victory to date in 2024 and secured his first FIA Formula E Drivers’ World Championship that same weekend. Last year, the Porsche factory team won both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships in London. In 2023, Dennis, racing for customer team Andretti Formula E, sealed the first drivers’ title for Porsche as a brand at the same venue. The 2.077-kilometre temporary circuit is unique on the race calendar. Located in the east of the British capital, it runs through the ExCeL exhibition centre and combines indoor and outdoor sections. The changing grip levels, particularly in wet conditions, make it one of the greatest driving challenges of the season.
Racing for Charity
On Sunday, the drivers will not only contest the final points and trophies of the season. Wehrlein and Müller will also complete their final laps for this year’s “Racing for Charity” initiative. Through the fundraising campaign, Porsche combines sporting success in Formula E with social responsibility. For every race lap completed by its two factory-run Porsche 99X Electric, the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer donates 400 euros to support seriously ill children around the world. Porsche intends to announce the final donation total after the event. The funds will benefit Kinderherzen retten e.V., Interplast Germany e.V. and the Ferry Porsche Foundation. Ahead of the final race weekend, the total stands at 390,000 euros.

Comments on the London E-Prix
Florian Modlinger, Director Factory Motorsport Formula E: “The situation ahead of London is challenging, with deficits of 5 and 14 points in the drivers’ and teams’ standings respectively. In 2024, we proved as a team that we can overturn a deficit. Pascal was 12 points behind at the time. Whatever happens, we win and lose together. That much is certain. The London circuit is always capable of producing surprises. I expect an extremely exciting weekend. We will give everything and fight all the way to the chequered flag.”
Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche factory driver (#94): “Before the season, our goal was to arrive in London fighting for the titles. That is the positive side. At the same time, there were several races this year where we could have achieved more. Even so, it feels good to know that we are still in the title fight and have everything in our own hands. We have already won the Manufacturers’ World Championship. Now we will give everything to secure more titles.”
Nico Müller, Porsche factory driver (#51): “I will try to score as many points as possible and make my contribution. I simply want a clean race weekend where everything comes together. Unfortunately, that has happened too rarely this season. The potential was always there, but we were unable to make the most of it often enough. Sometimes we could have done more ourselves, and sometimes luck was not on our side. I think it is time for that to change, and I am looking forward to getting the best possible result in London.”
Porsche in Formula E
As the reigning Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Champion, Porsche contests its seventh Formula E season in 2025/2026. In addition to the factory Porsche Formula E Team, the US customer team Andretti Formula E competes with the Porsche 99X Electric of the latest generation GEN3 Evo. A second Porsche customer team, Cupra Kiro, also participates, relying on 99X technology from the previous generation GEN3. In Formula E, the brand gains valuable insights for its production sports cars.
